This Sunday’s Theme was “Wait in Faithfulness.” We were reminded that the antonym for faith is fear and if we are to wait in faithfulness, we should not be afraid. In fact we should wait with anticipation. What will God do today?
The story of the Berlin Wall coming down was told. When President Regan said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” no one believed it would happen. Two years later the wall came down overnight. Some eye witness accounts were read. Here are excerpts from two of them.
“I was 13 that time… The Wall was right behind our back garden. We went to bed as usual and got woken up by our mom at some point of the night. The first thing I noticed was loud cheering. I got up to look out the window and just saw people running past, jumping up and down and crying and laughing… It was an amazing event to have witnessed and I still can’t believe this happened right outside of our house. I will never forget that night.” Zarina
“I was quite fit and in my late 20’s at the time, and when one guy put down a large sledge-hammer-like pole I asked if I could borrow it. He let me and I started bashing the Wall. A group of people formed around me and started clapping rhythmically… I kept on as long as I could, then gave the pole. Walked over to a curb stone. Sat down and wept.” Richard
If God could make the Berlin Wall come down overnight, He can do anything.
